I feel engineering is an involved program that is best taught @ Class. Hence face-2-face learning is possible the best option.

However, In my experience AMIE is best suited for Working Individuals especially those who are into Govt. Jobs and seek degree for promotions. Otherwise AMIE (without any work experience) or any distance learning program is not of much value in private sector.

AMIE is recognized by government and is a standardized thing. The best way to decide about other distance learning engineering program will be to find it out from the past students specifically on the Market reputation and subsequent employability that they achieved after completing the course.

BS & AMIE both are equal to BE.
BS is more expensive when comparing to AMIE
BS - costs 17,000 Rs per sem. whr AMIE full coruse can be finished with in this amount.
For both the courses you have to spend atleast 4 hrs per day.
BS have good recognition when comparing to AMIE.
If you will be travelling onsite regularly means, AMIE will be better choice, bcoz if you miss a sem. in BS then you have to pay the sem. fees again to continue.
If you are not travelling often and money is not a deal then BS will be a good choice.

Engineering degrees have labs. Can't really do a lab via distance learning.

Engineering programs are closely monitored to satisfy the requirements dictated by the country or region's engineering organisations. The criteria are pretty stringent and include lab work, classes, qualified teaching etc. It's very unlikely that an online program meets these criterias. Myself being an engineering graduate I can tell you it requires a lot of work and time, which is probably why none are given as evening programs since they would take forever to finish.
