I dont know about a class actually taught in Spanish, but, maybe she could take English as a second language first, then there wouldnt be an issue. There are a ton of classes like that, most taught in Spanish.

She could also purchase the Rosetta Stone classes for learning English as a second language. You can order the program online, and learn at your own pace.

Then maybe when she has a better command of thelanguage, she can take a class that will count for credit.

Or, perhaps she could purchase an electronic translator, so that she could look up the words she does not understand

Did you visit the distance learning centre to improve your knowledge and teaching skills? I took a TEFL Diploma correspondence program when I was living in Japan. I know it made me a much better teacher and consequently it helped my students.

My school does not co-operate with any distance learning centre at present.

Student motivation has, I believe, little to do with distance learning; either their teacher's or their own. If a student wants to learn he or she will.
