Join the Army and your school is paid for. Don't go chasing her when she does her AIT. If she's going active Army there is no telling where they will send her to once she's done with training. Unless of course they told her but if you know the ARMY, there are no guarantees. If YOU join the Army what will you enlist for? This plays a big part into where you will go for AIT after BCT. I'm sorry to say but you two are going to have a tough road ahead of you. I am not trying to discourage you, just being realistic. If you don't go the Army route yourself, then stay put and support her from whereever you will be living. Otherwise, your only other option is to get married before she goes and once they get her stationed she can apply for on base housing. Sit down with her and figure out your options and what will be best for BOTH of you. Best of luck.

Generally, it is easier to get into a doctoral program than a Master's or Bachelor's program because few people, comparatively apply. That's not to say that anyone's a shoo in by any stretch of the imagination, there are probably 30 or so spots and 1,000 applicants (versus 100 to 300 spots in any given BA or BS program with 30,000 applicants).

You still have to be as competitive as possible. They stop looking at SAT scores after your undergraduate year. What will count is undergraduate GPA, graduate GPA, and GRE scores objectively with work experience, personal statements, and/or research proposal statements (if they ask for one) subjectively.

OMG U LIVE IN HOPKINS ME TO!!!! :D lol but anyways if i was you i would pick USC its close to home you know the area well and plus i no somebody that goes to Howard and they said howard is a good school but they dont like it they said it really is kinda ghetto and everyone there is suck up and for a Southern Girl like myself i would say that D.C would be too big but when i go to college i plan to go to coastal carolina down in myrtle beach!!!! hoped i helped!!!!!

I didn't start college until I was 26-I have 2 associate degrees now-So glad I did that-then at 35 I joined the national guard and my husband gave me a ride to met up with others going to fort jackson-was in the guard a couple of years and got out-point is if you have your mind set on something you can do whatever you want, if you don't do well then at least you can say you tried, or learn what you would rather do from that point on. good luck

An online school can be a good solution. I'm in a similar situation where I can either get a job somewhere away from my boyfriend or find a way to go to school near him or online. So I'm going to be doing an online masters degree.

What I recommend is that you hold off moving to South Carolina until you can be sure where she will be stationed next. Make sure your love can hold up for the 2 months being apart...if it can't, then it probably won't work out in the long run. Find an online school that is accredited (very very important!!! If it is not accredited, then many employers won't accept the degree). Work on your degree in whatever you want. Maybe go stay with a relative until you find out where your girlfriend will go next. Then move there, get a job while you finish your degree.
