What are my Chances of Getting Into UC Santa Cruz, University Of Washington, and UC Berkeley for Business?

We Answered:

Well, I can answer for the UCs, but I'm not sure about University of Washington.

Technically, your GPA and SAT score is too low. And youneed 2 SAT Subject tests. UC Berkeley students typically have a 4.2 GPA, while UC Santa Cruz is a little bit easier to get in, but you need to raise your SAT a lot. The experience you have at business will help a lot, but they count GPA as a lot, and it will be difficult to get in without the proper SAT (2000+ for UC Berkeley) score and GPA. Working experience will help as well.

I can't tell you whether or not you can get in, but I can tell you that UC school are cutting down on admittees because of the budget cuts that they have to make for next year. Your class will have to deal with one of the most difficult years for colleges. As of right now, I'm not sure on wether or not you can get in UC Berkeley, but I have seen people with a better portfolio that have not gotten in. I suggest retaking your SAT, and getting it a cut better. UC Santa Cruz you will have a shot at but try to apply for more UC schools. UC Berkeley is one of the best, so it's really difficult to get in.

Washington American global University is real university of fake?

We Answered:

Washington American Global University is not regionally accredited, which is the type of accreditation that most people in the US use to determine if a university is reputable. In fact, it's not even accredited as a vocational school, or as a distance learning course. WAGU does not appear to have been given the authority by anyone to grant degrees. I wouldn't spend my money on it.

Best I can tell, the website was written by someone who is not from the US. Their English isn't correct. Their pages are poorly formatted and laid out, and there are several spelling and grammatical errors. The titles of their adminstrators seem odd. All gives me suspicion that this is a diploma mill. A scam.

What are peoples experiences with Phoenix University.. good or bad?

We Answered:

I can only speak as an employer, not as a U of P graduate, but in general, employers don't really love the U of P and schools like it. Of course, some employers don't care - so long as you have the degree, they are happy. But others do care, and some care enough that they refuse to consider U of P graduates. So go in with your eyes open - will the schools in Washington State care where your degree was from? If I were you, I'd call a few of the schools I would want to work in, post-graduation, and ask them.

Were you planning to go in person, or via distance learning? In general, many employers prefer candidates from reputable, brick and mortar universities, versus those that got their degree online. So check with your local state universities first. Not only are their programs likely stronger than those of U of P, but you'll also get a discount on the tuition because you'll be in-state.

But if you must attend online - if you literally can not make it to an offline classroom - then try to attend an online program that's administered by a reputable, brick and mortar school.

For online/distance programs, start looking first with your own local state university. You may be surprised at what they have to offer.

Some great universities that offer online degrees include:

University of Massachusetts at Amherst
University of Denver
University of Maryland
Duke University
Drexel
Carnegie Mellon
Penn State
Ball State
U Nebraska - Lincoln
University of Illinois

And there are others. But in general, when you're looking for a distance learning degree, try to find a program at a school that has a good reputation for their "brick and mortar" campus.
