You probably won't qualify for grants...I have friends who are married that make less than that, and they still don't qualify for grants.....However, everyone qualifies for student loans regardless of their income.

I am an employer and in my opinion the more education you can prove the better. There are a couple other schools you might look into for a certificate program. I think these are all in CA or at least the west.

Namely the school you go to needs to be accredited. Will any courses you take there actually transfer to a traditional college and you get credit for it, if not then you are wasting your time. Most colleges now offer lots of online courses, I know the one I go to does, and it is all accredited and held in higher esteem to most employers than the tons of online ones that have popped up. You should check with local universities and see if they offer anything online.

I've seen many good free InDesign tutorials online. A quick google search will find them.

InDesign is pretty much the industry standard and runs on PC or Mac platforms. There are all sorts of less expensive programs out there depending on your needs. Even Word can be used to design many small projects. It all depends on what level you want to take it to.
