Are distance education programs (study at home at your own pace) recognized by employers? We Answered:
I have to agree with the statement "it depends."It depends on the type of program. It depends on whether the employer is familiar with the program. It depends on the type of accreditation. And it depends on your knowledge of the quality of the program you choose and your ability to make an employer understand how the education you received will benefit his/her company.
About accreditation: having an accredidation of "online schools" or something is nice, but what you want to look for to insure you are in a quality program is regional accreditation. There are six in the United States. I live in Texas, so ours is The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. My daughter is in a distance ed program that carries this accreditaiton.
This type of accreditation ensures high standards, uniform standards, state and federal financial aid availability, and transferability of credits from school to school and from region to region.
There are other accreditations that are widely accepted, but you need to make sure the accreditation is recognized by the Dept. of Education.
Another thing you need to look at is, are they offering you a degree in less time than a traditional school setting. Some colleges do award credit for a work portfolio, but that should not be your main source of credit hours.
Once you decide on a program, and have completed it, be sure to list the accreditations the program holds for your employer so they can see that you invested in a quality program.

what is a hunter's education class home study course? We Answered:
Depends on the state, here in NC, we have an internet course, then you have an Internet field day where you take the test and do the practical exercises. Basically you just go over the course material yourself online instead of listening to an instructor.Vanessa Said:
Would anyone recommend doing a home study course? and what courses may be good for someone whose creative? We Answered:
I am taking online courses, and I feel that what I am learning is well worth what I am paying.Make sure the school is accredited, and if possible, take online courses from a school that actually has a brick and mortar school operating as well.
Most colleges have at least some courses offered online, and there are many degrees available fully online, and if the college also has traditional classes, your degree doesn't say that you took the classes online, it is exactly the same degree you get from going to the college.
I can't recommend specific courses or schools, since I am not sure what you want to study, only that you want a course with a creative background, which could be almost anything.

Are home study course good? Who would you recommend? Your experiences? We Answered:
I would recommend ICS. Thats the only one i heard of, you can read reviews on it. You can pretty much find an online college anywhere just by searching google. Mostly all have fees, but its not as much as attending. I think you need to do research on which one works for you, good luck.Kristin Said:
